Detecto's Model 437 Physician Scale Manufacturing Shown on TV's "How It's Made"
Webb City, MO - Detecto's renowned physician scale manufacturing processes have been featured in a 2009 episode of cable TV's popular program "How It's Made" airing on the Science Channel. The segment details the production of a Detecto model 437 physician scale used in hospitals, doctors offices, clinics, locker rooms and homes.
The "How It's Made" research director contacted Detecto Scale after his wife was in the hospital with an illness and he saw Detecto medical scales and step-on cans in use throughout the hospital. Once his wife regained her health, he contacted Detecto and requested to feature the scale manufacturer in an upcoming segment.
The physician scale episode will air first on the Science Channel Feb. 13, 2009 at 8 pm CST. It will then go into syndication to be shown on other channels, such as the Discovery Channel. The episode will be translated into over 3 dozen different languages to be shown internationally. Detecto's model MCS food service hanging dial scale has also been featured in a "How It's Made" episode last December.
Detecto President David Perry says, "When our company was approached by the How It's Made production department for the television show, we were highly honored that we were chosen."
He goes on to cite the unique aspects of Detecto that make the company a premium choice for a manufacturing process educational program; such as, worldwide brand name recognition for "Cardinal" and "Detecto", the wide-ranging scale line the company manufactures in the United States, ISO-9001:2000 certification, and the company's unique ability to manufacture all aspects of the scale in-house.
"We're proud of all the people who make it possible every day, and still humbled by the realization that hard work and perserverance pay off in this great country we live in," Perry says. |
