Industrial Engineer

Cardinal Scale in Webb City, MO is currently seeking an industrial engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will design and implement processes, tooling and fixtures for new products and establish manufacturing cost through time studies and estimates. Additionally he/she will identify cost savings and implement production methods to realize these while also supporting daily production with routers and work instructions.

A BS degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering, strong communications and team building skills are required. Experience in CNC machining and programming, AutoCAD, Creo (Pro/Engineer) and GibbsCam is a plus.

Software Engineer

General Description

Cardinal Scale Manufacturing Company is seeking an experienced software engineer to deliver cutting edge solutions to our customers.  The successful candidate will working with the product development team to design and implement software of real-time embedded devices and systems. This position is responsible for designing, developing, coding, testing and debugging system software and hardware.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops embedded software solutions by studying software requirements.
  • Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
  • Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing software specifications, documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
  • Encodes specifications by converting logical sequence and workflow into program language (C‐language, C++ language)
  • Verifies program code by conducting static and dynamic code analysis.
  • Creates and executes software test plans.
  • Updates job knowledge by studying state‐of‐the‐art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Participates in developing quality assurance procedures related to software design, implementation and verification.
  • Product support and liaison with customer service/technical support.
  • Other duties as requested.


  • 3+ years of embedded software development experience/knowledge.
  • BS (or MS) in Computer Engineering, Cybernetics, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or applicable scientific discipline is required.
  • Experience in embedded software development using C/C++.
  • Experience with integrating hardware and software systems.
  • Solid understanding of embedded hardware and architectures.
  • Experience with design and requirements specification and commonly used tools.

Preferred Skills

  • A strong background programming with C and C++ in a resource constrained environment.
  • Strong interest in electronic design.
  • Familiarity with real time operating systems and multi-threaded application development.
  • Working experience in different embedded software frameworks.
  • Knowledge with creating board support packages to bring up new hardware devices.
  • Experience with various microcontrollers.
  • Experience with communication protocols such as UART, RS232, USB, I2C, and SPI.
  • Ability to read hardware schematics and troubleshoot using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.


Mechanical Engineer

Cardinal Scale Manufacturing Company is seeking a mechanical engineer. The successful candidate will design new weighing and medical equipment for our Cardinal and Detecto product lines, customize existing products, interact with customers and suppliers and facilitate the manufacturing of our products.

A BS degree in mechanical or structural engineering, 3D modeling experience and strong communications skills are required. Experience in SolidWorks, SolidWorks Simulation, CREO / ProE and AutoCAD software packages are desired, experience in plastic part and mold design is a plus.

Cardinal Scale Manufacturing Co. is seeking a Welder/Fabricator at our facility in Webb City, Missouri. The Welder/Fabricator is responsible for layi8ng out, fitting and setting up the equipment without the use of fixtures.

Summary of essential job functions To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.• Mig weld fabricated forms according to blue prints or freehand. Select equipment and plan layout, assemble and weld. Movement, positioning and alignment of components for welding. Movement and positioning using overhead crane. Troubleshoot welding procedures, complete tasks and projects from start to finish. Using torches, plasma cutters, Bridgeport, sheers and various cutting tools. Can weld in vertical, horizontal and overhead positions.

Requirements • Must be mechanically inclined and be able to read a tape measure. Must be able to read prints and work orders. Will be required to pass performance tests.

Preferred Education/Experience • High School Diploma or GED. At least 3 years of manufacturing/shop experience. Minimum of 3 years welding experience. Must possess basic math skills with a knowledge of Geometry.

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The candidate must be able to stand for long periods of time, and lift up to 50 lbs. There will be bending, stooping, pulling and pushing.
